The Casablanca
elevated road (JLNT) that was initiated in the era governor
Foke and built at
a cost of Rp 1 trillion seems fairly expensive for
a 'red carpet'
specials for private
cars. Perhaps not about the “T” figures , but in terms of the decision to choose to build such an
elevated road.
Tackling problem
of congestion by building such elevated roads is like a thirsty man drinking from sea
water. Thirst is still there, but even more sea water is required. More and more
elevated roads need to be built.
In terms of its function,
for example, if one says
that
the 3.7 km
elevated road is able to cope with congestion. Certainly, the congestion simply moved to the end of the elevated road, a bottle
neck created when the elevated traffic met
the vehicle flow underneath. And a
large mall located nearby at Jl.Saharjo for example, functions as the bottle cap. Simply fit.
Visually-aesthetic, in fact, just
a few hours after its formal inauguration, this JLNT already get jammed . With lights flickering crowded
vehicle - no doubt - it appears like a 20 meters high giant storefront that displays snaking
gridlock right in the heart of Jakarta. Let's enjoy the show Bro
It's all about choices. Who gets
and who doesn’t. Instead of favors private car – together with its exhaust of
course-, this kind of infrastructure development initiatives should be a pragmatic
solution for the development of public transportation system.
